Two conflicting signals this morning: 80% kinetic escalation vs. Iran stand-down.
The system analysis says 80% probability of escalation within 24 hours. NPR says Trump called off the strike. These can both be true β Trumpβs βstand-downβ is at Gulf alliesβ request, not because the underlying situation was resolved. The next 24 hours are volatile.
HDβs miss is telling. Home Depot opened β3% on a miss β the 30Y at 5.13% is actively killing big-ticket home projects. Consumers are pausing on renovation spend. This is a read-through to housing starts, building materials, REITs. If Toll Brothers disappoints tonight, the housing correction thesis strengthens.
CVX at $196 is interesting despite Kronos bearish signal. WTI $103 should be good for E&P margins β but Kronos bearish + StockScout macro-risk-off filter says the trade is crowded and risky. Energy sector may already have priced in $100+ oil.
Tonight is NVDA. Everything hinges on this print. The setup is tense: market is in risk-off, 10Y at 4.59%, Iran de-escalated but not resolved, HD missed. NVDA needs to deliver a blowout and guide higher to break this tape.
